Vote For Children!
Children are dependent on their communities. The ballot box is one of the most effective means to influence how a community supports its children. Funding for children's resources - playgrounds, schools, children's legal services - all of these things are influenced by laws and the allocation of a limited pool of taxpayer dollars, which are controlled by voters and their chosen representatives.
Lane County's politics cannot be separated from the welfare of its families and children. Voting and getting involved in children's issues at the political level is a great opportunity to support the community's children. Get involved! Vote for children!

Every Lane County election
sees issues that affect children and families:
- Community children's issues are not most influenced by the President or Governor, but by closer-to-home state and county candidates and ballot measures.
- Voters can directly affect children's issues by voting on ballot measures and by signing (or choosing not to sign) petitions.
- Elections featuring important measures and political offices (such as school board members) often have low voter turnout.
- Contentious issues are rarely settled in one election.
- Defeated measures often return. Petitioners rarely give up until some form of their initiative is on the ballot, and has won.
- Many defeated petitioners will turn to lobbying legislators.
